Collection: Domaine Denis Fouquerand - Burgundy

The village of La Rochepot is one of the many under-the-radar treasures of Burgundy. Tucked away as it is in the hillside yet featuring a pretty spectacular castle; the Château de La Rochepot has a lively history spanning medieval feudalism right through to 21st century money laundering and a faked death.

It’s in this historic village setting that that the Fouquerand family, who trace their ancestry right back to being freed from serfdom in 1629, have owned and farmed their land, building a multigenerational winemaking family in the classic Burgundian tradition.

Developed by the late eponymous Denis Fouquerand, his eldest son Laurent has since 2008 been vigneron, converting to fully organic in 2013. Careful vine plantings, minimal use of sulphur and copper, and precise hand-harvesting before cold pressing the white grapes make up a classic, energetic Aligoté that speaks volumes about the quality of the winemaking.
