Ignaz Niedrist, Alto Adige

Niedrist make bench mark wines from Alto Adige. In the 1980s they were one of the first to estate bottle their own wine. These days they tend 11ha of vines with vineyards located throughout the region, using the best plots for each varietal. While not certified, the family practices organic farming, and yields are kept extremely low, a third lower than the appellation laws stipulate. The Niedist wines have a thread of clarity and expression that is very much their house style.
